NEW Orthopedic Surgeons joining the team at Medicine in Motion

We are very excited to announce the addition of two NEW Orthopedic Surgeons to our Medicine in Motion team: Drs. Saleh and Amirault!

Dr. Hosny Saleh has joined the team and is happy to see patients with or WITHOUT A REFERRAL for the following conditions:

Joint pain — knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, wrist, ankle, foot
Osteoarthritis — assessment and conservative management
Sports and overuse injuries (ligament sprains, muscle strains, tendinopathies)
Mechanical back and neck pain
Tendon and soft-tissue injuries
Joint and soft-tissue injections (cortisone, viscosupplementation where appropriate)
Second opinions on existing orthopedic diagnoses
Determination of whether further imaging or surgical referral is needed

Dr. Joseph Amirault is an orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in hip and knee reconstruction. Dr. Amirault previously worked as a staff orthopaedic surgeon in New Brunswick and has recently returned to Nova Scotia. At MIM he can provide assessment and non-operative management of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including arthritis, sports injuries, and other upper and lower extremity problems. He works collaboratively with referring physicians to provide timely assessment and coordinated care

NEW sports medicine physician joining the team at Medicine in Motion

We are very excited to announce the addition of a NEW physician to our Medicine in Motion team. Dr. Jenna Dickson will be joining the team in August 2019. She is just finishing a year of training in sports medicine at the Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic in London, Ontario.

In addition, we are very excited to announce that both Drs. Raphael Panais and Kory Arsenault were successful in completing the Canadian Academy of Sports and Exercise Medicine (CASEM) diploma examination in April 2019. CONGRATULATIONS Drs. Panais and Arsenault!

Ultrasound guided injections

In addition to learning about different injection techniques, some of our Sports Medicine Physicians will also be doing some extra training on the use of ultrasound to help guide them when performing joint and soft tissue injections. The addition of this technology in the clinic will allow the Sports Medicine Physicians to be much more precise when performing their injections with the PRP and stem cells.
