Orthopedic Surgeon
Hosny Saleh is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with over 20 years of independent consultant experience. He earned his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCSI) in 1997 and was elected a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) in 2007. He completed an AO Trauma Fellowship in 1999 and holds a Master’s degree in Orthopedics from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Saleh has practiced as a senior orthopedic surgeon at major teaching and military hospitals across the Middle East. He has served as Orthopedic Residency Program Director in Saudi Arabia and has been recognized for his expertise and leadership in managing complex orthopedic cases. He has authored peer-reviewed publications on shoulder arthroplasty and pelvic fracture management, contributed to clinical guidelines, and lectured at international orthopedic conferences.
Dr. Saleh practices at Medicine in Motion with a focus on assessment, diagnosis, and non-surgical management of musculoskeletal, sports, and arthritis conditions. While he is currently not accepting surgical cases, he coordinates appropriate referrals for patients requiring surgical care through Nova Scotia’s orthopedic surgical network.

- Osteoarthritis — assessment and conservative management
- Sports and overuse injuries (ligament sprains, muscle strains, tendinopathies)
- Mechanical back and neck pain
- Tendon and soft-tissue injuries
- Joint and soft-tissue injections (cortisone, viscosupplementation where appropriate)
- Second opinions on existing orthopedic diagnoses
- Determination of whether further imaging or surgical referral is needed
